About me

"Saver of waistlines" for over 30 years

Hi, I’m Joanne (or Jo), a body composition coach with over 30 years of experience helping individuals and groups achieve sustainable, long-term results. My focus? Body composition. This means helping you lose fat, build muscle, and navigate the unique challenges of every stage of life—whether you're a teenager just starting out or someone in midlife or beyond redefining what's possible for your health and fitness.

I work with communities, groups, and individuals to create transformative wellness experiences. From equipping teenagers with knowledge that sets them up for life to guiding midlifers through the changing fat patterns of aging, I teach how to be an outlier—not held back by what’s considered “normal.” Knowledge is your most powerful tool, and body composition is a skill—one that I’m here to teach through effective, sustainable strategies.


Why Work With Me?

I’m English-born (yes, the accent is a bonus) and a former professional bodybuilder, achieving 7th in the world at a time when female muscle was far from celebrated. I’ve spent over 30 years in the health and fitness industry, with 25 of those at the legendary Gold’s Gym in Venice, California. To succeed in the mecca of fitness, you have to bring something special—and I do.

Clients over the years have included Rodney and Joan Dangerfield, Chelsea Handler, Demi Lovato, Shawn Wayans, Stephen Nichols (Soap icon), John Ridley (Oscar winner). Monica Brant (Ms Olympia) but more importantly Joanne helped thousands of people understand and control their body composition.

Pregnant clients, midlife clients, clients suffering sickness, divorce, grief, injury. Joanne has worked with every issue that life has to throw at us and rarely has the answer ever been to eat less or add another hour of cardio.

I’ve worked with household names and everyday people alike. My expertise isn’t just theoretical; it’s grounded in decades of coaching real-world results. Whether the goal is fat loss, muscle gain, or both, I’ve lived it, coached it, and helped countless people sustain it.

Changing your body composition is a skill; for some, it is the greatest challenge of their life - no diet that lacks explanation can ever give you the lasting results that you deserve.

How do I add a question and answer to my FAQ section?

In the "Content" tab, scroll down and click on an existing question to edit the text. Click "New Question" to add more questions to your FAQ.

Can I display my questions and answers without the toggle?

Sure! All you need to do is switch off "Use question toggles" in the "Content" tab to display both your questions and answers

Can I add images and bullet points to my FAQs?

Yep! All you need to do is press the slash key / to pull up the formatting menu. You can add images, files, embeds, bulleted and numbered lists, and other text styles directly into your FAQs.
